    Description

Round bronze sculpture Ø 50 cm.

Sculptor Jens-Flemming Sørensen, born 1933 in Copenhagen, dead 2017. From 1987 resided in Pietrasanta, Italy. Originally trained tailor but started working as a self-taught painter. In 1966 he was co-founder of the artist group Passepartout.

Jens-Flemming Sørensen’s sculptures are often composed of organic and geometric shapes. The materials are granite, bronze and marble. In many of the works, body parts of humans, bullets or obelisks are breaking out of the interior of the massive forms, or perhaps they are held back. The dynamic and enigmatic charisma gives the impression that the sculptures are constantly changing, an element that goes back to the installations where fragmented parts are scattered in space.

    Examples of sculpture installations:

    Toftegårds Plads in Copenhagen (1982)

Fountain for the Carlsberg brewery headquarters in Copenhagen (1998)

Fountains, sculptures and reliefs for the commercial and residential buildings Tuborg Nord in Hellerup (2003)
